Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevention Society (KAMPS) is a growing non-profit kidney-care organization in Bangladesh. Its journey began in 2005 at Hatibandha village in Sakhipur, Tangail, through the social-welfare vision of Professor Dr. M. A. Samad.

KAMPS started with community health activities at Talim Ghar, a center established at Professor Samad's village home. The early work focused on basic healthcare support for poor, vulnerable and underserved people.

As a senior nephrologist, Professor Samad recognized that kidney disease was rising rapidly and that prevention and early detection were essential. KAMPS was built around that principle: help people understand kidney risk early, encourage screening, and guide families before the disease reaches a critical stage.

Over time, KAMPS expanded its work through awareness campaigns, roundtable discussions, seminars, rallies, posters, leaflets, media engagement, screening programs, dialysis support and humanitarian health programs.

Today, KAMPS works through its head office and regional centers, serving patients, families and communities with a focus on awareness, prevention, early detection and compassionate care.

বাংলা: কিডনি এওয়ারনেস মনিটরিং এন্ড প্রিভেনশন সোসাইটি (ক্যাম্পস) বাংলাদেশের একটি ক্রমবর্ধমান অলাভজনক কিডনি-স্বাস্থ্য প্রতিষ্ঠান। অধ্যাপক ডা. এম. এ. সামাদের সমাজসেবামূলক চিন্তা থেকে ২০০৫ সালে টাঙ্গাইলের সখিপুরের হাতিবান্ধা গ্রামে এর যাত্রা শুরু হয়। 

অধ্যাপক সামাদের গ্রামের বাড়িতে প্রতিষ্ঠিত “তালিম ঘর” কেন্দ্রকে ঘিরে ক্যাম্পস প্রথমে কমিউনিটি স্বাস্থ্যসেবামূলক কার্যক্রম শুরু করে। প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ের কাজের মূল লক্ষ্য ছিল দরিদ্র, অসহায় ও সুবিধাবঞ্চিত মানুষের জন্য মৌলিক স্বাস্থ্যসেবা সহায়তা প্রদান।

একজন জ্যেষ্ঠ নেফ্রোলজিস্ট হিসেবে অধ্যাপক সামাদ উপলব্ধি করেন যে কিডনি রোগ দ্রুত বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে এবং এ রোগ প্রতিরোধ ও প্রাথমিক পর্যায়ে শনাক্তকরণ অত্যন্ত জরুরি। ক্যাম্পস সেই মূল দর্শনকে কেন্দ্র করেই গড়ে ওঠে—মানুষকে কিডনি রোগের ঝুঁকি সম্পর্কে আগে থেকেই সচেতন করা, নিয়মিত স্ক্রিনিংয়ে উৎসাহিত করা এবং রোগ জটিল হওয়ার আগেই পরিবারগুলোকে সঠিক দিকনির্দেশনা দেওয়া।

সময়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে ক্যাম্পস তাদের কার্যক্রম আরও বিস্তৃত করে সচেতনতামূলক প্রচারাভিযান, গোলটেবিল বৈঠক, সেমিনার, র‍্যালি, পোস্টার ও লিফলেট বিতরণ, গণমাধ্যমে প্রচারণা, স্ক্রিনিং কর্মসূচি, ডায়ালাইসিস সহায়তা এবং মানবিক স্বাস্থ্যসেবা কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে।

বর্তমানে ক্যাম্পস তাদের প্রধান কার্যালয় ও আঞ্চলিক কেন্দ্রগুলোর মাধ্যমে রোগী, পরিবার এবং বিভিন্ন সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষের সেবায় নিয়োজিত রয়েছে। সংগঠনটি সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি, প্রতিরোধ, প্রাথমিক শনাক্তকরণ এবং সহমর্মিতাপূর্ণ সেবাকে সর্বোচ্চ গুরুত্ব দিয়ে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
